Commissioned by the Board at Parkdale BIA (Business Improvement Association), I led the design of a new visual identity and street banner series to help revitalize the neighbourhood’s public presence. The goal was to craft a bold and welcoming look that reflects the spirit of Parkdale while attracting more foot traffic and visitors to the area.
The Board at Parkdale BIA thought that the current branding (below) is not appealing enough and does not visually represent the neighbourhood.

The design process began with an on-the-ground neighbourhood tour and in-depth discussions with the BIA Director to understand the vision and values they wanted the new designs to embody. Based on these conversations, I explored visual themes rooted in Parkdale’s identity—incorporating historical architecture, lush greenery, and cues that emphasize the area’s bike-friendly and transit-accessible environment.

This project is currently on hold due to changes in the Parkdale BIA board. With new members stepping in, the direction of the initiative may continue as originally envisioned or shift toward a new creative approach.
The design presented above reflects the progress made in collaboration with the former Director, who has since retired. It represents the shared vision we developed to capture the spirit and identity of Parkdale.
